Outside, the weather was cold and snowy, but inside the gym and halls of Ed White Elementary School, the atmosphere was warm and fuzzy. That's because Friday, Feb. 1, was the Eldridge school's annual Morning with Mom celebration, hosted by the PTA.
Instead of grabbing a quick bite and heading off to school with little more than a "See ya, Mom" or "Have a nice day, Sweetie," the students and their mothers, grandmothers, or significant others were able to enjoy a breakfast they didn't have to make for themselves and spend time talking, playing games, reading books and taking pictures.
Of course, when it was time for school to begin, they parted ways for the day, but with just a little more spring in their steps — no matter how wintry it looked out their windows.
