PHOTO GALLERY: Harvest Lessons

It was a cold, wet and muddy day on Tuesday (Nov. 19) when the North Scott FFA put the wraps on the 2019 harvest. Wearing large plastic boot covers over their trendy shoes, students from the junior high loaded onto buses to make the three-mile trip to the field located on Hillandale Road to watch and learn from the harvest. With FFA members offering assistance, volunteers finished off the 18 acres of corn, which averaged 200.1 bushels an acre, with moisture ranging from 23.3 to 26.1. Earlier this fall, 24 acres of soybeans were harvested, with an average of 66.1 bushels per acre. NSP photos by Scott Campbell.
