A funeral service for Ruth L. Petersen, 88, of Davenport, formerly of Donahue, was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial was in the Maysville Cemetery.
Mrs. Petersen died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023.
Ruth Fitzgerald was born June 26, 1935, in Muscatine, the daughter of Louis and Edith Fitzgerald.
She married Jerris Glen Petersen on Oct. 18, 1961.
Survivors include her sons, Tom (Cathy) Petersen, Cedar Rapids, and Craig (Dotti) Petersen, Davenport; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Donahue Sportsman’s Club, the Donahue Volunteer Fire Department, or Donahue Larry M. Gronewold American Legion Post 532.
