Obituary: Robert Patzer

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date for Robert Lee “Bob” Patzer, 70.

Mr. Patzer died Saturday, March 28, 2020, in Bloomington, Ill.

Robert Patzer was born July 4, 1949, in Davenport, the son of Richard and Ella Patzer. He graduated from North Scott High School in 1967.

He married Linda Fleck on Feb. 14, 1970, in Moline.

In earlier years, he worked for the family business, Eldridge Welding. He worked at the Caterpillar plant in Davenport for 22 years; at the Blackhawk Foundry in Davenport as a quality engineer for 14 years; Kone Elevator in McKinney, Texas, as quality engineer for seven years; at Mechanical Devises in Bloomington as a quality manager for five years; and at Camtek in Bloomington as a quality manager for seven years before retiring in 2018.

His hobbies were playing softball, golf, shooting pool, fishing, woodcarving, history, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Leslie Casel, Manchester, Mo., and Wendy Seban, Cedarburg, Wis.; his grandchildren, Emma Casel and Sam Seban; his sisters, Donna Fleck, Vinton, and Kory Patzer, DeWitt; and his brothers, Wayne Patzer, Bettendorf, Mike Patzer, Topeka, Kan., and Dick Patzer Jr., Eldridge.
