A celebration of life service for W. Leon Downing, 85, of Davenport, formerly of Walcott, will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 (today) at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. A time of sharing will be held at 7:15, following the celebration of life.
Mr. Downing died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
W. Leon Downing was born March 28, 1936, in Milan, Mo., the son of Mike and Dorothy (Hurdle) Downing.
He married Nancy Prather on June 20, 1959, in Noel, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; his children, David (Mary) Downing, Bettendorf, and Megan Downing, Davenport; a granddaughter; and a sister, Joyce Boswell, St. Louis.
Memorials may be made to the Walcott Lions Club or to the Walcott Fire Department.
