On March 11, 1943, Kenny was born to parents James and Alice (Wuestenberg) Grell. After graduating from high school, Kenny served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later established his career as a farmer and found great fulfillment in his work throughout his life.

On Sept. 11, 1993, Kenny married Delores DeSmet in Big Rock. Delores preceded him in death in 2019.

Kenny adored spending time with his grandchildren, who had fun riding the gator and tractor with grandpa. He was a lifetime member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Association, a member of the NRA, and was active in the American Legion in Donahue and Dixon. Kenny’s happy-go-lucky attitude and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life will be missed by those who knew him.

Survivors include his two children, Theresa (David) Spicer and Shawn (Christian) Worton; nine grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delores; one beloved daughter, Christine Gaskey; one son-in-law, Larry Gaskey, and his brother, Lester Grell.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Croix Hospice and Bickford of Davenport for their loving care of Kenny.
