Obituary: Donna Finkenhoefer

Donna Marie Finkenhoefer, 70, of Davenport, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals after a five-year battle with cancer.

A visitation was held from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at the Runge Mortuary. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 25, at the Runge Mortuary. She was laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family for a future donation to fight cancer in her name. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Donna was born April 11, 1953, in Moline. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Stephen Finkenhoefer, on March 24, 1973, in Rock Island. After 30 years of dedicated service, Donna retired as a florist from Colman Florist to become a full time Grandma.

She loved watching HGTV to find projects, scrapbooking days, and doing crafts with her grandchildren. Her favorite past time was attending her grandchildren’s events. Donna’s life revolved around her home and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Finkenhoefer; daughter Stephanie (Jeremy) Schaack of Eldridge; three grandchildren, Mason, Hailey, and Emily Schaack; son Stephen Finkenhoefer II of Clear, Alaska; brother, David (Sue) Huntley of Walcott; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Vaughn Ruefer, and in-laws, Chester and Elizabeth Finkenhoefer.
