Carol Ann Judge, 82, a resident of Grand Haven, Eldridge, passed away peacefully in her home early Friday, June 30, 2023.

Carol Ann Pitts was born on Dec. 7, 1940, in Clinton, to Howard and Helma (Sellnau) Pitts. Growing up as a farm girl, Carol was accustomed to the value of hard work, and she carried that ethic throughout her life. She was a 1959 graduate of Welton High School, and was married to Terry Marlowe, with whom she had three children. On Aug. 29, 1980, she married Harold “Juddy” Judge in Grand Mound. She worked as an office administrative assistant for Spring Park Oral Surgery, retiring after 40 years. Though Harold preceded her in death in 2003, she never stopped loving him, and is surely dancing with him in heaven.

Carol was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge, where she worshiped and served with joy for many years. She actively participated in the church choir, using her love of music to praise with heartfelt enthusiasm. Carol was fiercely independent because she was completely dependent on God, and she lived her life as a testament to her faith. She selflessly made sacrifices to ensure the well-being and happiness of her children. At Grand Haven, Carol found a renewed sense of happiness and a warm community. She cherished the compassionate care and attention she received from the staff and formed meaningful connections with fellow residents. Grand Haven became a place of solace and comfort for her, bringing her joy in her later years.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Trudy (Robin) Beert of Long Grove, Carla (Brent) Whitlock of Durant, Todd (Laura) Marlowe of Davenport, Kevin (Laurie) Judge, Dan Judge, and Rick (Angie) Judge; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara (LeRoy) Wulf of Grand Mound; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents, and siblings, Glen and Ardith Pitts.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 7, also at Faith Lutheran Church, the Rev. Dr. Carrie Lewis LaPlante officiating. Following the service, Carol will be laid to rest beside Harold at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in Long Grove.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Faith Lutheran Church and Grand Haven, both in Eldridge.

Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Condolences may be expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com.
