Merle and Mary Bowers of Princeton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends on Feb. 5 at the Snow Masonic Lodge in LeClaire.
Mary Randolph and Mr. Bowers were married Feb. 2, 1963, at the Argo Church in LeClaire.
Mr. Bowers was an electrician at John Deere Davenport Works in Mt. Joy, retiring on June 30, 2000.
Mrs. Bowers was a housewife and worked at Bowers Electric with Merle evenings and weekends for many years.
They are the parents of Brenda (Carlos) Esparza of Princeton, Steve Bowers of LeClaire, Joe Bowers of LeClaire, and Liz Bowers of Bettendorf.
Their grandchildren are Sutara Bowers, Nick Nelson, Jake Mackey, Jared Esparza and Brenna Esparza-Harrison. They have seven great-grandchildren.
