Wayne Holst, 81, of LeClaire, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2021, from COVID-19 pneumonia. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary, with visitation two hours prior. The service was livestreamed on the Runge Mortuary Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends to please make a memorial to their favorite charity in Wayne’s name. Wayne was born on April 16, 1940, in Davenport, to Herbert and Edna Holst. He farmed all his life and drove a dump truck for 40 years. Wayne was passionate about dancing and traveling. He was also the “fun uncle.”
Wayne is survived by his devoted partner of 40 years, Mary Ann Robinson, and brothers, Harlan (Valerie), and Robert; and was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie.
