Tyson Hill ~ Feb. 8, 1986 – Oct. 15, 2023

Our gentle-hearted giant left a giant size hole in the hearts and lives of those who loved him. Surrounded by love, he was gone way too soon.

Tyson was born in Davenport and remained in the North Scott area most of his life. He graduated from North Scott High School in 2004, then completed skilled training at Job Corp in Denison. He married Tabby Christensen in June of 2017. Tyson loved music, wrestling, cooking, comedy, gaming, anime, a good movie and ‘DJ’ing . He was our go-to computer guy as well as an all-around good guy to the world. He had a huge heart and loved to help others. He wanted to make a positive impact in the world.

Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

In October 2015, Tyson was diagnosed with a rare liver cancer. He was given three years to live, however he lived eight years, mostly in good health, with a recent sudden decline. Tyson’s goal from the beginning of this battle was to help find the cure for this specific disease. He chose to donate his body for that purpose, and so his tissue was sent to the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation.

Tyson became a Christian as a child and his relationship with the Lord has grown substantially in the last year, especially. There is no doubt that this battle-weary warrior received his Heavenly reward. We know that he is now in Perfect Peace.

He is survived by his wife Tabby, mother Connie Shannon, father and stepmother Ronald and Cindy Hill, and his “bonus” (step) grandparents Frances Lee of Temple, Texas, and also Harlan and Janet Pfohl of Dubuque. Also included are sister Courtney (Brian) Henson, brothers Ronald Hill II, and Ethan (Karin) Hill. Also included are his “bonus” siblings; (stepbrother) Brian Latham, (stepsister) Michelle (Nick) Wells, (sister-in-law) DeAnna Allbrook and (brother-in-law) Zachary Allbrook. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, precious friends and a great nephew.

He was preceded in death by all four biological grandparents: Harry Hill, Edith Hill, Harry Lee and Margie Lee, (stepfather) Jim Shannon, multiple uncles and cousins, as well as two close aunts: Luanna Brabant and Katie Ratliff.

Celebration of Life will be held at Community of Hope Church, 415 West 53rd St. Davenport, on Friday, Oct. 27, at 3 p.m.

Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.McGinnis-Chambers.com.
