A memorial visitation for Harold John Wente, 91, of Eldridge, formerly of Denver, Iowa, will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, June 30, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Denver. A graveside burial service will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Wente died Monday, June 19, 2023, at Grand Haven Memory Care, Eldridge.
Harold Wente was born Jan. 9, 1932, in Waterloo, the son of Lavern and Esther (Guenther) Wente.
He married Marilyn Margaret Sassmann on Sept. 29, 1951, at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Paul) Kalainoff, Eldridge; a son, Larry (Janet) Wente, Katy, Texas; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Denver.
