Donna Eudaley passed away on Feb. 12, 2024, after an extended illness, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Donna was born on Dec. 22, 1946, in Hazel Green, Wis., to Floyd and Irene (Gehrts) Wieters. She graduated in 1965 from Galena High School along with her soon-to-be husband Dennis. They were joined in marriage on Dec. 26, 1966. That union produced one daughter, Ticia (Balsar).
Donna was an active participant in the Park View Women’s Club in her early years. She retired from John Deere Law department in 2001 as a paralegal, but stayed on part-time for several more years. After retirement, Donna enjoyed several activities such as traveling with her girlfriends and husband to different locations around the U.S., golfing and taking her chances at the local casino. Her most cherished activity was that of becoming “Birdie the Clown,” doing care clowning at nursing homes and parades, and was thrilled to share this activity with her grandson, Chuckles (Charlie).
While Donna was an only child, she always thought of Dennis’ sisters and brother as her own, and was a vital part of that family for 60+ years.
Donna had a zest for life and took advantage of every opportunity to get together with friends or family. She was always the life of the party, and she loved Jesus and was looking forward to being with Him.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Dennis, daughter and husband, Ticia and Clint; grandchildren Jordan Jones and Charlie Balsar; her brother and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and so many friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 (today), at Eldridge United Methodist Church, with a visitation an hour beforehand. A light meal will be provided afterward. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eldridge United Methodist Church, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or any charity of your choice.
The family would also like to extend its sincere appreciation to the staff at The Summit Bettendorf and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Online condolences may be shared with Donna’s family at www.McGinnis-Chambers.com.
