Donald Joseph Davis, age 82, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away on May 6, 2024, in Fayetteville. He was born July 1, 1941, in Keokuk, to John Davis and Ruth (Blake) Davis. Donald served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After serving, he married his wife Carol Ann McManus, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2016. He graduated with a masters in education from Northeast Missouri State University. Donald worked as a high school teacher, teaching industrial arts in Keokuk and Eldridge. After his retirement, he would continue to work as a substitute teacher in Eldridge. Donald also enjoyed woodworking, even owning a custom wood shop, and he eventually retired from Von Maur, of which he provided exceptional customer service in the fine men’s suit business. He was a dedicated family man who never missed a basketball game or tennis match. Before moving to Arkansas, Donald was very active at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, in Eldridge.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Carol Ann Davis; and sister, Winona Ray.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Dina Davis-Barnes, and husband Thomas; son, Daniel Davis, and wife Jacky; grandchildren: Taylor Ann, Tate Joseph, Paula, Francheska, and Domenika; three great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Elizabeth, and Michael; and brother, William Davis and wife Stephanie.
