New jobless claims number 64,187 first week in April

The number of initial claims in Iowa reported by the U.S. Department of Labor, filed between Sunday, March 29 and Saturday, April 4, was 67,334. There were 64,187 initial claims by individuals who work and live in Iowa, and 3,147 claims by individuals who work in Iowa and live in another state.
