One former Wilton couple recently celebrated their golden anniversary and their unwavering love that has stood the test of time.
Duff and Janet (nee Moeller) McFadden, of Johnston recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 11, 1976, at Wilton’s Zion Lutheran Church by Pastor Garth Baker.
Duff is a retired Army first sergeant, following 37 years of military service, and Jan currently works for the Iowa PBS foundation, and plans to retire in December, after 24-plus years.
The couple have lived in San Diego, Calif.; Denver, Colo.; and Olympia, Wash., as part of his military service. They have lived in the Johnston area since 1998. Duff is a 1975 Wilton graduate, and Janet, a 1976 grad.
They have two sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren.
“We are grateful for the love and support of our family and friends throughout the years,” the couple said.
