Eldridge Lions Club members are collecting cleaning supplies for the QC Veterans Outreach Center.
Donated items are assembled into baskets distributed to the center’s 3,000 veteran clients.
Lions Club member Ann Mohr said about 500 rely on the baskets.
Donors may bring new, unopened cleaning supplies, dish soap and laundry detergent to:
Scott County Library, 200 N. Sixth Ave., Eldridge
The North Scott Press, 214 N. Second St., Eldridge
Monica Hursey State Farm office, 208 N. Second St., Eldridge
On May 18, The Outreach Center celebrates its move to the former Davenport Buchanan School, at 4515 North Fairmount St. The center provides a food pantry, free monthly haircuts, housing and employment help for veterans.
