Donahue Legion sends Wall, Wehrman to Girls' State

The Auxiliary Unit of the Larry M. Gronewold American Legion 532 in Donahue has chosen Addyson Wehrman and Lainey Wall to participate in this year’s Girls State Session.  Addyson and Lainey will join girls from all over the state in meetings held in June at Drake University in Des Moines for a learning experience covering government from local to state levels.

Lainey Wall, from Donahue, is the daughter of Chris and Carla Wall. She is a junior at North Scott High School. Lainey is an athlete on the North Scott volleyball and North Scott tennis team. She also participates in the high school FFA chapter and the Liberty 4-H Club.

Lainey has done a lot volunteering in the community through her 4-H club with town breakfasts, Easter Egg Hunts and roadside cleanups. Lainey appreciates her family and friends for always supporting her in her various activities.

Addyson Wehrman, from Bettendorf, is the daughter of Kristin Wehrman.  She is currently a junior at North Scott High School, where she is a member of the North Scott FFA Chapter, North Scott girls’ wrestling team, and the North Scott Trap Club.  She is also a member of the Youth Shooting Sports Association, LeClaire Boosters 4-H Club, the Scott County 4-H Council and a national Culver’s 2024 FFA Ambassador.

Addyson is very involved in her church and enjoys serving meals at The Vine and the conversations had over a meal.  She also is active in volunteering and giving back to her community.

Lainey and Addyson would like to thank the Auxiliary Unit for choosing them for this experience that they are excited to take part in!
