The Wilton Beaver football coaches, players, and fans may have had to look up where Woodward-Granger High School was after Class 1A playoff pairings were released on Saturday, October 21, but after last Friday’s big 49-21 win, they will most definitely want to return there.  The Beavers made themselves at home in the game scoring at least seven points in each of the four quarters and taking the District 7 runners-up out of the game early in the win.  The win gives Wilton a record of 8-1 and a date with Iowa City Regina Friday night in the next round of the playoffs.  The trip to Woodward-Granger High School was two hours and 35 minutes from home, one of the longest distances traveled for a Class 1A team in the first round. more
Wilton sophomore Audra Coss punched her ticket to the 2023 Class 2A state meet this coming Saturday after placing in the top-10 finishers at the Williamsburg state qualifying meet last Thursday.  more
Muscatine County 4-H will host CloverFest at the Activities Center at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds in West Liberty at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29. CloverFest is a free event to celebrate Muscatine County 4-H and introduce youth to all of the awesome things that can be done through 4-H! more

Sharon Kay Mockmore, age 70, of Wilton, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island, Ill. A visitation was held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton.  A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home.  Burial took place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.   more
