Sharon Kay Mockmore, age 70, of Wilton, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island, Ill. A visitation was held from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home. Burial took place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.
Sharon was born on Jan. 26, 1953, the daughter of Raymond and Vivian (Gottschalk) Adams in Muscatine. She graduated from Durant High School with the Class of 1971. Sharon married Donald Mockmore on March 23, 1974.
Sharon was a homemaker who cherished taking care of her family. She also worked at Clarence Senior Living for many years. Sharon enjoyed crocheting, creating crafts and sewing, especially clothes for her friends and family. Sharon also enjoyed tending to her garden, canning and baking. Most of all, Sharon loved her family and cherished hosting holiday meals at her home.
Sharon will be dearly missed by her husband, Don; seven children, Duane Mockmore, David Mockmore, Colleen (Mark) Lukemyres, Ben Mockmore, Raymond (Marcinda) Mockmore, Alex (Maleah) Wright, and Kyle (Emma) Wright; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darold (Karen) Adams and Jeff (Carol) Adams; one sister, Lisa Adams; her friends; and her extended family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and one great-nephew.
