Bill Jennings posted the POW/MIA flag and a moment of silence was held. Kevin Wright then offered a Prayer. Tom Taylor gave the finance report. A motion passed to accept the finance report. more

This past Sunday, the West Liberty Public Library held its Summer Bash event, celebrating the finale of its annual summer reading program alongside its young readers and their families. Snack, lawn games, and summer reading t-shirts could all be found at the event for guests to enjoy. more
The Cedar County Historical Society honored the 2026 J. Curtis and Frances (Forest) Frymoyer Scholarship winners at their annual summer picnic on July 26. Each of these Cedar County students received $1,000 award for their college education. more

The 111th annual reunion of the descendants of Gottlieb and Dorothea Kaufmann was held July 19 at the Wilton Community Center with 115 in attendance from eight states. Jean Klein Pinkard gave the blessing prior to the catered meal.  Laura Bailey from “The Gardens at Whitmer Woods” provided the table settings of fresh flowers. President Jeff Kaufmann called the meeting to order, and Melissa Kissell gave the Secretary’s report. The Reunion and Cemetery Treasurer’s reports were presented and accepted. The Kaufmann Cemetery is in good shape financially after a $25,000 donation in memory of Jim Kress last year. Per our cemetery by-laws, three Trustees of the cemetery were elected: Jeff Kaufmann, Heidi Jackson, and Frank Townsend. more
