This month, St. Mary Parish in Wilton hosted a food drive. Parishioners donated turkeys, hams, canned vegetables, cornbread, potatoes, stuffing, fruit, soup, pie filling, and more to create Thanksgiving Meal baskets for 31 families in Wilton and Durant. The church partnered with the local schools to identify families in need. more
The public is invited to the 2025 Christmas Services of the Old Stone Church hosted by The Friends of The Old Stone Church on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 4 p.m. The Old Stone Church is located at 3507 180th Street in Muscatine, which is one and one-half miles north of Wild Cat Den State Park.  The Old Stone Church is not heated, so warm dress is recommended. more
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m., the Durant Community School District will be holding its annual Christmas concert in the school auditorium. There is no admission, but guests are welcome to give donations at the entrance. Funds raised will be used for honor band and supplies. more

On Monday, Nov. 24, the Wilton City Council re-visited a citywide stormwater study with Eocene Environmental Group. The holistic study will look at how stormwater flows in the city’s system and will make recommendations for improvements and for funding. City Administrator Jeff Horne reported that he had done more research and spoken with Dyersville city staff who had used the same company and were very satisfied. After much discussion, the council approved the study (5-1) for $38,500. more
