On Monday, October 26, the Wilton City Council conducted a post-project review of the 5th Street Reconstruction Project, as requested by Council Member Bill Voss. A financial breakdown listed the original estimate at $7,228,669 and the current cost at $7,104,730.87. There is still some road grading work to be done. City Administrator Jeff Horne stated, “Overall, we will have a small deficit of about $200,000 when all is done. The deficit will be paid for by road use tax.” The project is scheduled to close with the Iowa Department of Transportation in the Spring of 2027.
