Phyllis Marie Boisen, age 90, of Durant, died on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 at Wilton Retirement Community.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 21, at the church. Burial will take place in Durant Cemetery.

Phyllis was born on March 12, 1932 in Aledo, Illinois, the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy (Jones) Earp. She attended Durant Schools. Phyllis married Virgil Boisen on April 17, 1949 in Davenport, Iowa. Virgil passed away on August 1, 2018.

Phyllis worked for the Bendix Corporation for over 27 years, retiring in 1991. While working at Bendix, Phyllis served as an officer for their local I.B.E.W.

She was a devout Lutheran and a dedicated member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where she was active in the women's circle. Phyllis and Virgil loved attending Durant's annual Polka Fest. She enjoyed traveling, reading and collecting stamps.

Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her children; LaMoine Boisen of Durant, Ronald Boisen of Durant, Laura Sue (Debra) Boisen of St. Paul, Minnesota and Marie (Mark) Germundson of Armada, Michigan, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, JoAnne Meincke of Wilton.; one aunt, Ruth Harkey of Moline, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Virgil, and one brother in-law, Larry Meincke.
