Sharon A. Roesger, age 88, of Durant, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at the Kahl Home in Davenport.  A funeral service was held at 12 noon, Monday, Dec. 8, at the First Presbyterian Church, Wilton.  A visitation was held from 11 a.m. - 12 noon, prior to the service at the church.  Burial took place in Durant Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.

Sharon was born on Jan. 9, 1937, the daughter of Donald and Doris (Darnell) DeMond in Sioux City.  She attended Scott Community College, where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Sharon married John Scherer on Aug. 6, 1954, and later married John Roesger on May 23, 1970.  John passed away on Jan. 11, 1996.

Sharon began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, caring for patients with compassion and dedication. After several years in nursing, she devoted herself to being a homemaker, a role in which her warmth and loving nature shone brightly.  A woman of strong faith, Sharon was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilton, where she participated wholeheartedly in the women’s group.  Her commitment to community extended well beyond the church walls. Sharon was a proud member of the Durant Lioness Club, where she once served as president.

Sharon had a talent for decorating, a love for arts and crafts, and took great joy tending to her yard. Her lifelong spirit of service was perhaps most evident in her volunteer work. Sharon gave her time to the Scott County Humane Society, the Salvation Army, and the local food pantry.

Sharon will be dearly missed by her six children, Susan (John) Carpenter of Apopka, Fla., Tim Scherer of Davenport, Tom (Cindy) Scherer of Oshkosh, Wis., Todd (Patty) Scherer of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Mark (Denise) Roesger of Stockton, and Richard (Teresa) Roesger of Durant; 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Michael Ducey of Davenport

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Roesger; and a sister in-law, Gloria Ducey.
