Michael James Boots, age 53, of Wilton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.
Mike was born on July 27, 1972, in Iowa City, to Robert and LuAnn (Shaffer) Boots. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Stanwood with the Class of 1990, where he participated in football and wrestling, qualifying for the state wrestling tournament during his senior year.
Mike enjoyed the simple things in life and made the most of every moment. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and searching for morel mushrooms. He was happiest when he was firing up his prized smoker and cooking for his family and friends, bringing everyone together over a great meal. One of his greatest pas-sions was riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle and enjoying the open road. Mike was also a fan of old-school country music, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Las Vegas Raiders. His dogs—Harley, Bella, and Ruger—held a special place in his heart. Above all, Mike valued his family. He shared a special bond with his daughter, Bella, and was always proud to be her dad.
Mike will be dearly missed by his children, Bella and Lucas Trotter. As well as his fiancée, Rhonda Wadsworth; his step-children Levi (Lexy) Wadsworth, Mackenzie Wadsworth, grandson Stetson Wadsworth; his mother and stepfather LuAnn (Al) Robinson, sister Sheryl Tilton as well as her two children Ethan and Dylan Tilton. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Robert Boots; his grandparents, Robert and Florence Boots, as well as Maurlene and Don Dawson.
