Kenneth Dwain Shepherd, 79, of Wilton, Iowa, died Friday, April 9, 2021 at his home. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at the Wilton Union Hall Local #8581. Memorials may be made to the family. Ken was born in Muscoda, Wisconsin on July 24, 1941, the son of Bert and Grace (Fazel) Shepherd. He graduated with the class of 1959 from Soldiers Grove High School in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin. He married Karen Atkinson, and later married Kathy Friesen. He was united in marriage to Marcia Hougas on Oct. 20, 1995 in Ottawa, Illinois.

He was a Crane Operator for Gerdau Steel in Wilton for 28 years before retiring in 2004. After retirement, Ken detailed cars for Krieger Auto Group in Muscatine. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union #8581. He enjoyed road tripping, playing pool, fishing and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Ken also enjoyed attending classic car shows and automobile museums. Most of all, Ken treasured spending time with his family and friends.

Ken will be dearly missed by his wife, Marcia; three sons, Kirk Shepherd of Katy, Texas, Kris (Tammy) Shepherd of Spring Green, Wisconsin and Kraig (Linda) Shepherd of Marshall, Wisconsin; three daughters, Kimberly (Charles) Proveaux of Ladson, South Carolina, Kelly (Todd) Billman of Summerville, South Carolina and Kory Shepherd of Wilton; two step children, Kim Cummings and Kevin (Cara) Cummings, all of Ottawa; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Donald “Don” (Irene) Shepherd of San Diego, California, Beauford (Ardella) Shepherd of Whitewater, Wisconsin, Norman “Norm” (Connie) Shepherd of Clinton, Iowa and Arlene (Ken) Rundle of West Bend, Wisconsin.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; and 11 brothers and sisters, Basil, Esther, Robert, Clifford, Roland, Margaret, Madaline, Ernest, Bernice, Beulah and Marion.
