Edward W. Nesbit, 75, of Muscatine died April 4, 2020 at his home. The family will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date. Memorials may be made to Judy Nesbit.
Edward was born Aug. 28, 1944 in Muscatine to Charles and Hazel Nesbit. He married Judy Birkhofer on April 8, 1961 in Muscatine.
Mr. Nesbit worked for Muscatine Bridge Company as a supervisor for 25 years.
He was a member of the Jesus Mission church, where he was a board member and was a member of Local Carpenter’s Union. He enjoyed fishing, raccoon hunting, mushroom hunting, working on vehicles, going to church and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Judy; and his sons Michael Nesbit and Jason Nesbit, both of Muscatine; daughters Angie (Jim) DeLong of Muscatine and Jennifer (Tom) Tompkins of Crystal River, Florida; brother Roy (Diane) Nesbit of Muscatine; and sisters Pansy Hayes, Thelma Peterson, and Lilly Johnson, all of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Hazel Nesbit; brothers Lavern Nesbit, Cecil Nesbit, Charles Nesbit, Marvin Crabtree and Leslie Nesbit; and sisters Eva Nesbit, Charlene Carlisle, and Rose Ann Snyder.
