Frank Edward Dvorak, 87, of Wilton, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, at Harmony Utica Ridge, Davenport, after a prolonged illness.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at the United Methodist Church of Wilton. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Frank was born in Wilber, Neb., on Oct. 24,1936 to Victor A. Dvorak and Helen (Bartos) Dvorak. He graduated from Troy Mills, Iowa and received his BS in Ag Education at Iowa State University in 1958 and master’s degree in Ag Economics from Michigan State in 1959. He married Rita Jane Collier April 23,1960 and they spent most of their lives farming between Wilton and Durant on a farm that was in the family for over 100 years.
Frank cherished spending time with their three children and six grandchildren, supporting their activities, hosting family at the farm and giving tractor rides. He also loved traveling the world with Rita, playing cards, collecting antiques, fishing, dancing and playing many sports over the years, including basketball, tennis, golf, racquetball and pickleball. He was a member of the Wilton Masonic Lodge and Wilton Methodist Church.
Frank is survived by his wife, Rita Dvorak of Davenport; children, Susan (John) McMahon, PHD of Chicago IL and Doug (Lynne) Dvorak, MD of Littleton CO; Brothers, Vic Dvorak of Hayfield MN and Ed (Sue) Dvorak of Guttenberg IA; grandchildren, Casey Dvorak, John (Amy) Dvorak, Alex Dvorak, Amanda (Samm) Beelow, Emily McMahon, and Katie McMahon; and 2 great grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by son, David Dvorak; and sisters, Helen Powell and Joy Buchan.
