Eloise E. Sessler, age 94, of Wilton, died on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. A visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Eloise was born on April 20, 1929, the daughter of Oscar and Wilma (Koetting) Davison in Muscatine. She graduated from Muscatine High School with the Class of 1947. Eloise married Robert Sessler on Jan. 8, 1950, in Wilton. Robert died on March 5, 2017.
Eloise was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. In her younger years, Eloise was a telephone operator in Muscatine. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton, where she was active with the lady’s aide. She was a devout follower of Christ and proclaimed the message of reconciliation to God in Christ. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, Robert, playing cards and reading, especially starting her day by reading her Bible. Most of all, Eloise loved her family.
Eloise will be dearly missed by her two children, Lynn (Glen) Anderson of Whitewater, Wisconsin and Lee (Jane) Sessler of Wilton; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; one son, Dean Sessler; and four siblings, Olive Berger, Jacqueline Bloom, Donald Davison, and Lillian Rehbehn.
