Dale Vernon Voss, age 73, of Wilton, died suddenly while working in his yard on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022.

A visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.

Dale was born in Iowa City on May 16, 1949, the son of Vernon and Mary Lou (Ketelsen) Voss. He graduated from Bennett High School with the Class of 1967. He married Barbara Stuhr on June 23, 1968 in Bennett.

Dale worked as a service technician for Thermogas in Wilton for 18 years. He later worked for Custom Builders of Tipton for over 20 years, before retiring in 2020. Dale was a longtime active member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served as an Elder.

He enjoyed being involved with his children's sports as well as collecting guns and diecast tractors. Most of all, Dale loved camping and traveling with his family, especially out west to the National Parks.

Dale will be dearly missed by his wife, Barb as well as three children including Angela (Corey) Freeman, Derrin Voss, and Casey Voss and two grandchildren, Alayna Dann and Damian Dann. Also surviving is a brother, Cliff (Maurita) Voss of Davenport and one sister, LuAnn (Tony) Wulf of Walcott.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Mary Lou and one grandson, Marcus Dann.
