Another fatal accident involving a bicycle rider occurred in Muscatine County Oct. 17 as Michael Joseph Mann, 56, of Muscatine was struck by a car and died as a result of the incident.
According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, Mann was riding his bicycle southbound on Moscow Road south of 140th Street when he was hit from behind by a 2013 Honda Fit driven by Timothy Lee Miller, 59, of Muscatine.
The accident remains under investigation. The state patrol was assisted by the Wilton Fire Department and the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office.
