COVID-19: Honoring the fallen at Wilton United Methodist Church
People within the community of Wilton can hear the bell at the Wilton United Methodist Church ringing multiple times daily. Pastor Steve Braudt has been ringing the bell each day in honor of Iowans who have lost their lives to the coronavirus COVID-19. He begins with a quick bell toll for each death in the state, then follows with longer, more prominent chimes for deaths reported that day. As of May 18, there have been 363 deaths in Iowa. The state has more than 15,000 confirmed cases. Pastor Braudt is shown above ringing the bell May 13.
