The Cedar County Engineer requests a voluntary embargo of the gravel roads throughout the entire county. With the tremendous amount of snow this winter and the recent thaw, the roads are becoming soft and possibly impassible. The engineer requests everyone to limit travel to utilizing pickups and cars until the roads have a chance to heal.
The Secondary Roads Department will attempt to fix areas that it can without destroying miles of roads to get to the problem areas. If you must haul, please limit travel to the early mornings if the roads are frozen. Please cease hauling once the surface begins to soften.
