115 Kaufmanns, from across eight states, gather for reunion

The 111th annual reunion of the descendants of Gottlieb and Dorothea Kaufmann was held July 19 at the Wilton Community Center with 115 in attendance from eight states. Jean Klein Pinkard gave the blessing prior to the catered meal.  Laura Bailey from “The Gardens at Whitmer Woods” provided the table settings of fresh flowers. President Jeff Kaufmann called the meeting to order, and Melissa Kissell gave the Secretary’s report. The Reunion and Cemetery Treasurer’s reports were presented and accepted. The Kaufmann Cemetery is in good shape financially after a $25,000 donation in memory of Jim Kress last year. Per our cemetery by-laws, three Trustees of the cemetery were elected: Jeff Kaufmann, Heidi Jackson, and Frank Townsend.
