Obit: Claradelle Bishop

        Claradelle “Corky” Bishop, 85, of Wilton, died on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center East Campus in Davenport.

    Visitation was held on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton.

    Funeral services were held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wilton.

    Interment took place at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Wilton First Responders in her memory.

    Corky was born on July 28, 1932. She was the daughter of Andrew and Annette (Allen) Mueller.

    She graduated from Wilton High School in 1950. Corky married Harlan D. Bishop on Jan. 6, 1951 in Wilton. After raising her family, Corky worked as a teacher’s aide at Wilton Community Schools for several years.

    She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilton, Purity Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and Wahkonsa Country Club, where she served as treasurer for many years.

    She enjoyed golfing, sewing and playing bridge.

    Corky is remembered by her husband Harlan; her children Julie Sterner of Atalissa and Jim Bishop of Tustin, California; daughter-in-law Susan Bishop of Mazatlán, Mexico; granddaughter Deja Sterner; five great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Thomas Bishop, her son-in-law Chuck Sterner and her brothers: Bud, Dick and Clair Stoelks.
