Doris Arlene Buckman, 86, of Conesville, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Memorial services were held on Aug. 20 at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Burial was in Conesville Cemetery.

Doris Arlene Peterson was born on Nov. 13, 1932, in Muscatine, the daughter of William and Doris (Phillips) Peterson. She was a graduate of Conesville High School. On March 28, 1951, Arlene was united in marriage to Donald Buckman in Iowa City.
Arlene worked at Oral B for 33 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Conesville United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Redhat Society. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, traveling, eating ice cream and her many pets, especially her dog Travis. Most of all, Arlene loved being with her family.
Arlene will be deeply missed by her children, Brian Buckman of Maquoketa, Teri (Craig) Linton of Skiatook, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Billie Jo Buckman, Josh Buckman, Lizabeth Maurer, John Dieckman, Loni Moushan; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and brother, Lewis Peterson of Nichols.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; children, Mark Buckman, Gail Dieckman; brother, William Peterson Jr.; sisters, Alice Orr and Mary Ellen Hoag.
