Wilton Legion Auxiliary donates safety books to Wilton Elementary
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 584 of Wilton recently brought safety resources to Wilton elementary students for the eighth year. Safety chairperson Jill Akers presented the books to elementary counselor Dory Smith, who will use them as a resource for fourth grade students. The “Health Safety” handbooks feature information about healthy lifestyles, eating, play, environment and a healthy mind. There is information for parents, and fun activities for students to do. The “Healthy Safety” handbook is published by Community Safety Net. The handbooks, pencils, reflectors and notepads given were made possible through a donation from Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) in Wilton, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.
