Crews from Triple B Construction could be seen tearing out a portion of Fifth Street earlier this week, between Chestnut and Walnut streets. According to City Administrator Chris Ball, a sewer line running underneath the road collapsed and is in need of repair. The intent was to have the lines under Fifth Street monitored with a camera to see which areas need to be lined using Visu-Sewer, and the area between Chestnut and Walnut was a problem spot. "We were cleaning the line, and it collapsed," Ball noted. Over the weekend, the city used pumps to bypass the broken area prior to closing the road for construction/repair, which will take at least two weeks, according to Ball.
