Wilton, Durant students receive COVID shots

Wilton and Durant students were able to get their second Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses at Wilton junior high school June 3. Durant student Kiley Stineman is shown getting the vaccine shot from Wilton school nurse Heather Hartley. Wilton student Ewan Arlen is shown getting the shot. After being opened to people 12-15 years of age, the Pfizer vaccine was administered by Wester Drug of Wilton, which has also done a clinic for youth in West Liberty. More than 75 students between Wilton and Durant school districts have been fully vaccinated thanks to the Wilton school vaccination clinic. "Pfizer and Moderna have both put in data to vaccinate children 6 and up. If this happens I do think we will host another vaccine clinic at the school," said Hartley. Photos by Derek Sawvell
