The Siegfried Petersen Scholarship Committee has announced its scholarship selections for 2020. One individual will receive $10,000, two will receive $8,000 each, two will receive $6,000 each, and one will receive $2,000 from the trust account that was established by Mr. Petersen, a life-long farmer in the Bennett area.
This year’s winners were selected from a list of 22 applicants and include Grace Morningstar, Lisbon (Lisbon High School) who will receive $10,000; Madalyn Timmerman, Tipton (Tipton High School) and Trent Pelzer, Bennett (Tipton High School) will each receive $8,000; Jaylin Pearson, Lowden (North Cedar High School) and Hannah Frisch, Durant (Durant High School) will each receive $6,000; and Madison Conrad, Bennett (Tipton High School) who will receive $2,000.
The committee would like to recognize all of the students throughout the Cedar County area who applied and encourage anyone who will be enrolled in a post-secondary program in 2021-2022 to apply again in the spring of 2021.
