Racing back at West Liberty June 14

WEST LIBERTY – For the first time since last August, stock cars will again roar around the West Liberty Raceway. DRT TRAK Racing Inc. is bringing the cars and stars of the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model series back to the Muscatine County Fairgrounds oval, on Sunday, June 14.

The winner of the Late Model A-Main is looking at a $5.000 payday. The MLRA series has competed three times at West Liberty. Past winners are: Billy Moyer (2015), Chris Simpson (2016) and Bobby Pierce (2018).

Also racing will be Modifieds running for a top prize of $1,000-to-win, and SportMods racing for $500-to-win, and the American Iron Racing Series. There is no entry fee for the support classes.

Fans will be allowed in the grandstand at 50 percent capacity or less. DRT TRAK Racing Inc. urges all fans and competitors to practice social distancing, use hand sanitizer and stay safe.

Start times for the MLRA race at West Liberty are earlier than normal. The pits open at 2 p.m., grandstand at 3 p.m., drivers meeting at 4 p.m., hot laps at 4:30, with racing to follow.
