Patricia Ann Johnson, age 82, of Coralville, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 25, at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. A visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, April 25, in Berlin Jackson Township Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Patty was born on Oct. 5, 1942, the daughter of Chester and Hazel (Sears) Klatt in Marshalltown. She graduated from Alden High School with the Class of 1960. Patty married Jerald Johnson on April 16, 1961, in Alden. Jerry passed away on Nov. 8, 2020.
Patty served as the former Iowa State President of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, offering her leadership and service for over 50 years. Her devotion to service extended far beyond P.E.O., most notably as a volunteer at the University of Iowa Hospitals Day of Surgery Lounge, where she gifted more than 4,000 hours of her time. She also played a vital role in Tama, where she organized and led community blood drives.
A faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama, where she served in many roles within the congregations, including the choir, Eventide, and ladies circle. Her commitment to youth and education continued through her work as a music leader and Sunday School volunteer, where she was a warm and encouraging presence to every student. Patty enjoyed reading, golfing, knitting, quilting, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, and was a fabulous cook. She also enjoyed her garden, especially tending to her flowers. Patty adored her many pets over the years and leaves behind her faithful feline companion, Millie.
Patty will be dearly missed by her two children, Brian (Kelly) Johnson of Glenwood, and Stephanie Lindell of Castle Rock, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Katelyn (Stuart), Margaret (Edin), Elizabeth (Matt), Michael, Andrew, Adam, Justin (Becca), and Rachel; three great-grandchildren, Ellison, Sullivan, and Phoebe; one sister, Barbara (Greg) Gilbert of Iowa Falls; and one brother, Chester (Pam) Klatt of Steamboat Rock.
Patty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry; and her parents, Chester and Hazel.
