Obituary: Curtis Fostrom

Curtis W. Fostrom, 75, of Davenport, passed away at Davenport Lutheran Home on April 25, 2021.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 7, at Runge Mortuary.  Visitation will be at 1 p.m.  Masks will be worn and social distancing observed.  Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to Our Savior Presbyterian Church, rural LeClaire.  Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Curtis was born on May 10, 1945, in Silvis, Ill., to Carl and Mildred (Peterson) Fostrom.  He was united in marriage to Frances (Kay) Fostrom on July 1, 1973, in rural LeClaire.  Curtis was employed by the North Scott School District, where he retired after working 31 years.

Curtis enjoyed a lifelong interest in mechanical pursuits, earning certifications as a Master Truck Technician and School Bus Technician.  As a well-rounded craftsman, he had an appreciation for woodworking, electrical maintenance, and home improvement.

Those left to cherish Curtis’ memory are his wife, Frances; sons, Charles and Andrew; and a sister, Lucille Dinberg.

Curtis was preceded in death by his father Carl, his mother Mildred, and an infant son.

The family gives special thanks to the staff at Davenport Lutheran Home for their compassionate care of Curtis.
