Sherry Lynn Halstead-Goodrich, 64, of Durant died Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Premier Estates in Muscatine. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 11 at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Social distancing guidelines will be in place for the memorial service. Masks are recommended, but not required.
Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois.
Sherry was born on Oct. 24, 1955, the daughter of Roy and Georgia (McKillip) Yeggy in Iowa City. She married Roger L. Goodrich on April 26, 2005 in Muscatine.
Sherry enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. She also enjoyed gambling and everything Elvis Presley. She loved Halloween, it was her favorite time of the year.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; two grandchildren, Amber and Brian; her brother, Roy Yeggy of Atalissa; two sisters, Mary Sprague and Elizabeth (Tom McCleary) Hollenbeck, both of Muscatine; and sister-in-law, Joan Yeggy.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Sue; her parents, Roy and Georgia Yeggy; two sisters, Betty Gaunt and Patty Fox; and brother, Richard Yeggy.
