Robert was born March 8, 1951, in Muscatine, the son of Richard William and Norma Jean Schaer Beutler.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. His service included activation for Desert Storm in 1991, and being stationed in Germany as a Staff Sergeant with the Army’s 8th Infantry. Robert was a member of the American Legion, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Although not an active churchgoer, he maintained strong religious beliefs.

When younger, he was an avid bowler, won many trophies, and was recognized for both his 299 and 300 games. In later years, he was a huge pro wrestling fan and enjoyed attending live events, especially on trips to Chicago, and meeting many wrestlers and divas for pictures, highlighted by attending Wrestlemania 22. He also enjoyed time with friends and especially family.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his brother, Stephen (Cyndee) Beutler of Minot, North Dakota, and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, and many others from the family.
