Richard “Dick” Lynn Cram, 78, of Wilton, Iowa, died Monday, April 5, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 18 at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Dick was born on April 18, 1942, the son of Raymond and Doris (Danner) Cram in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated from Wilton High School with the class of 1961, where he excelled at football, basketball and baseball. Dick married Betty Windman on Aug. 29, 1964 in Wilton.

He worked in member service for Eastern Iowa R.E.C., retiring in 2003. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Wilton Light Board and the Wahkonsa Country Club. Dick was vital in creating Wilton Parents for Youth, an organization for youth sports in Wilton. Dick was instrumental in executing the installation of baseball and softball field lighting at Wilton High School, Cherrydale and Westview parks. He proudly coached his daughters’ softball teams for many years, and was proud of their 122-5 winning record. Dick enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing pool, and most importantly “Shooting the s%@t.” Most of all, Dick loved watching his grandchildren participate in sports. He leaves behind many pinky swears to be cherished forever by beloved family members.

Dick will be missed by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Tracy (David) Helton of Parkview, and Shelly (Rusty) Cram Rahlf of Wilton; and six grandchildren, Sean (Gina) Helton, Ryan Helton, Brock Brade, Austin Helton, MacKenzie Rahlf and Addison Rahlf; one great-grandson, Griffey Helton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gene Cram.
