Rex L. Lesan, 96, of Durant died on Sunday, Sept. 27 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. Private family services were held on Oct. 3 at Slade/O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa.
Rex was born April 25, 1924, in Mount Ayr, the son of Glenn & Mabel Lesan.
On May 29, 1975, Rex married Marilyn Brooks of Durant. After their marriage, Rex, Marilyn and their children made their home in Leon.
Rex retired as a sales representative with Forney Welders. After retirement, Rex and Marilyn, began raising registered Angus cattle under the name of Y-Von Angus.
In 2018, Rex and Marilyn relocated back to Durant.
Rex is survived by children, Terry and Jill Brooks, Brian and Linda Brooks, Brent and Susi Brooks of Durant, Kelly Brooks Robison of Muscatine, Greg and Wendy Brooks of Millersburg, Michigan, Brett and Cheri Brooks of Des Moines, Wendy and Jim Wilson of Urbandale, Troy and Shirley Lesan of Gallatin, Missouri and Bret and Marcia Lesan of Blue Springs, Missouri. He had 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death was grandson Timothy Wilson, and great-grandson Kaleb Retherford; along with other family members.
