Jacqueline Irene “Jackie” Wakefield, 82, formerly of Blue Grass, died on June 5, 2020 at the Wilton Retirement Community. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.

Memorials may be given to the Clayton County Conservation Board (C.C.C.B.) in her memory. Condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Jackie was born on March 5, 1938, the only daughter of Julius and Josephine (Woods) Geest in Scott County. Jackie married Dallas E. Wakefield Sr. on March 29, 1955. They lived on an acreage in rural Muscatine County with their three boys Sonny, Jody and Tim. Dallas and Jackie were married 53 years until his passing in September of 2009.

Jackie enjoyed eating out, the holidays, fishing, traveling and Sunday dinners with the family. She traveled to all 50 states, experienced many cruises, and traveled abroad with her friend, Jan. But the trips to The Grand Mesa and Silver Jack Reservoir in Colorado were highlights for them. Camping, fishing and time spent with family gave her wonderful memories to share. Later, after retirement from Sears Manufacturing in Davenport in 2000, Jackie and Dallas traveled to the trout streams in Northeastern Iowa. This she enjoyed so much because she “out-fished” Dallas every time.

Jackie will lovingly be remembered by Tim (Laura) of Durant, Jody (Sandy) of Camdenton, Missouri, Sonny (Abby), of Davenport; her grandchildren, Samantha, Conner, Grant, Renee (William), Ryan, Natalie (Phillip), Carter, Dallas III and Stephanie; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Kit (Jeff) Geest, of Grand Jct., Colorado and Kirsten (Julius) Geest of Iowa City; nieces and nephews, Casey (Dusty), Gina (Tanner), Lain (Angelina), Sue (Tim), Kylan (Eric) and Cody (Derrick); and special family, Michelle and Terry Swan.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her brothers, Jeff and Julius; and her parents.
