Christopher Lee Hoekstra, 64, of Wilton, Iowa, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 19 at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Interment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton.

Chris was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on May 7, 1957 to Verne and Mary (Horras) Hoekstra. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1975 and attended Muscatine Community College. Chris married Paula Dusenberry on Dec. 12, 1997 in Burlington, Iowa.
Chris was employed at Gerdau-Ameristeel in Wilton for 41 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping and woodworking. Above all, he loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Chris is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Paula; children: Katie (Chris) Hawzen of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jacob (Courtney) Dusenberry, Tyson (Courtney) Lamb and Samantha Berrones (David Leonard), all of Wilton; 11 grandchildren; his sister Liz (Rick) Brecht of Clive; sister-in-law Connie Hoekstra of Wilton; and brother-in-law Dean (Nancy) Dusenberry of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Mike Hoekstra.
